New Low-Emissions Ford Launched
Ford continues to be a leader in innovation and in fuel economy with its latest release, a refined version of the Focus that features a petrol-powered 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine that achieves a 99g/km emissions result. The vehicle will go on sale early next year and will also be available in some of the smaller vans in Ford’s commercial vehicle range.
The car’s innovations are not limited to its low emissions levels and 67.5 mile per gallon fuel economy. It also boasts special tyres, refined aerodynamics and a new gear system as well. Because of its environmentally-friendly statistics, the new Focus will be exempt from Vehicle Excise Duty as well as the London Congestion charge, making it not only attractive to those who are interested in living green, but also to those who want to hold on to the green in their pocketbooks.
The 99g/km vehicle will not be replacing the previous iterations of the Focus; it will be sold as an additional option to the already existing 109g and 123g versions.
Ford has experienced great commercial success with the 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine. It is already available in several existing lines, and there are plans to offer the option in the rest of their vehicle families, including in the Tourneo Connect people mover, the Transit Courier, the Transit Connect, the EcoSport SUV, and the brand new Mondeo that will be launched soon.
Ford has also revealed the availability of several new trim levels for a variety of their vehicles. New features will include a variety of combinations of satellite navigation, 16 and 17-inch alloy wheels, rear parking cameras and monitors, and centre consoles.
