After David Thompson’s recent return to Dorchester Ford, we’re taking a moment to appreciate the extensive experience he has gained over his long career in the automotive industry.
David first started working at Dorchester Ford in May 1993. He began as a sales executive, selling new and used Ford cars in Dorchester and the surrounding areas. David was clearly good at his job, as he climbed the ranks to become the sales controller and then, ultimately, the sales manager.
And, what better way to assess someone’s ability than by their customer service? David won the national customer satisfaction index awards – 2 years running! This helped both David and Dorchester Ford to build a strong, meaningful relationship with Ford Motor Company, further strengthening the team there.
After David moved on from Dorchester Ford, he held various different positions, including senior managerial positions and, importantly, training consultancy. When you’re delivering the best customer service, it’s a good idea to share your ideas with those just starting a career in car sales.
After adding to his wealth of experience for a number of years, David returned to the blue oval, joining Foray Motor Group in September 2018. David was invited back by Simon Moulton (MD), who he previously worked for, for over 10 years!
We’re also taking a moment to welcome Simon Edwards back, too. Where David will be sharing his expertise between Dorchester and Shaftesbury (Hine Motors), Simon is exclusively based at Dorchester Ford – looking after you from Monday to Saturday.
