Vehicle Cameras Prove Boon for National Windscreens

In an attempt to reduce fleet costs and eliminate unnecessary expenditures resulting from fraudulent insurance claims, National Windscreens (South East) has chosen to install vehicle camera systems from Inteligent Telematics across the fleet currently used by its team of installation engineers.

According to the company’s managing director, Dave Quarterman, “We are seeing an increase in crash for cash, bogus whiplash and fraudulent claims, so the vehicle cameras will help us protect our engineers and avoid unnecessary insurance costs. Since installing the solution we have already successfully challenged two claims by proving what actually took place, demonstrating its importance to our business moving forward.”

The cameras will be mounted in a front-facing position, and will provide high definition video capture of road collisions and other driving events that can be used as evidence in the case of an accident or claim. National Windscreens will then be able to minimize their financial risk and respond quickly in answer to any events or claims that occur. It is expected that operational risk will also be reduced, as the cameras may also improve driver behavior.

According to Sam Footer, head of international business and strategic development at Inteligent Telematics, “We have developed the most sophisticated vehicle camera solutions currently available that combine leading video and telematics technologies. “
