UK VAN AND CAR MANUFACTURING ON THE RISE
Figures released today have shown an increase within the UK, with reports showing that CV manufacturing rising by 3.2% in April and car manufacturing up by 9.3%.
The figures, that have been released by the SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and traders), compared the first four months of this year to the same period last year. The results are certainly a sign that companies are beginning to invest in new vehicles to replace existing fleets such as new Ford vans.
The report also showed an increase in UK engine production this year, rising by 1.3% in April alone and by 1.7% compared to the year on year figures.
The SMMT chief executive commented upon the organisations release saying: "UK manufacturing of cars, commercial vehicles and engines increased in April, boosted by strong export demand that is almost 10% ahead of last year."
