New motoring trials have been taking place on the Isle of Man over the past month, nothing to do with speed records, but new technology to decrease emission levels of vehicles.
At the heart of the tests are two Ford Transit vans, both equipped with special engines that run on hydrogen gas. The tests are part of a larger plan to develop and investigate green fuel technology by the island's Department of Infrastructure.
With the Transit being the most popular commercial van within Europe it is no surprise that the Isle of Man's Department of Infrastructure and the company responsible for the vans, Sheffield based ITM Power, chose the vehicles for the bench test.
The vans can switch between petrol and the newly designed Hydrogen system. They also produce 0 carbon emissions and cost a great deal less to power.
