Top used car survey shows 3 Ford models at the top

A new survey carried out by Experian has show that just as many motorists are interested in buying second hand luxury cars as much as cheaper costing budget versions.

The results of the survey showed that, on average, used cars buyers spent in the region of £6,000 on their pre owned purchases within the UK.

One of the pitfalls of buying a second hand vehicle away from a dealership is the condition and service history, another of the findings of the survey showed that 8% of all used car buyers arrived home to discover that their new vehicle had damaged parts that the seller didn't mention at the time of sale.

Out of the 1,800 people who took part in the survey, more than half said that they had to pay for repairs during the first year of ownership.

Used Ford cars were amongst the top ten most popular used cars, with the Fiesta, Focus and KA models all listed as top buys from private sellers and garages such as Ford car dealerships
