The Ford B-Max MPV Awaiting Production

Ford revealed its new Fiesta-based MPV earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show, but back then it was mere concept vehicle. Since then and after numerous automotive industry shows, Ford has decided to put the Ford B-Max into production.

Expected to be sometime in 2012, The new Ford B-Max is unique in its design as it features a central ‘pillar-less' design and sports rear sliding doors, resulting in ample room for passengers.

The clear advantages to this design is that it is ideal for side loading, especially for large items like flat pack furniture or even say a bicycle, which is something other vehicles of a similar size would not be able to accommodate quite so easy.

Under the bonnet there will be an economical three-cylinder ‘Ecoboost' 1.0-litre petrol engine, which will be delivering around 100bhp and is expected to return around 70mpg. The new Ford B-Max is slightly longer than a Fiesta but still utilises the same chassis.
