The Ford Motor Company have been busy developing the US version of the Transit van, the motor giants have announced that durability tests have begun taking place at their ‘Top Secret' Michigan proving grounds.
The testing at the 3,880 acre testing areas are extra tests to make sure that the vans will operate to their best standard on Americas roads; the US Transits are expected to be put through a scheduled three months of on-road testing. On top of these trials, a number of these New Ford vans have been loaned to a limited number of fleet companies involved with ‘the blue oval's' commercial wing.
Ford's own testers have commented that the main reason for the intricate testing is to be sure that the soon to be released global models are ‘durable no matter how the customer uses it'.
