In a time when many people are holding back from upgrading or investing in new vehicles, the UK's commercial van market is on the rise, according to a report from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMTT).
Figures released by the organisation have shown that during May the car and van market saw an overall sales increase of 10% compared to the same month in 2011, making May the first month in 2012 that sales have improved for Commercial vans, up 6.7% month on month.
The largest boost in van sales in May was accredited to smaller vans weighing up to 2 tonnes, such as the Transit van Connect and Fiesta, with the larger models such as the LWB and SWB Transit seeing an increase of 113%.
When upgrading commercial vans, many businesses insist on purchasing or leasing new Ford vans due to their reliability and reputation as the workhorses of the industry.
