New Ford sales surpass 200,000 in 2015
Registrations of new Ford vehicles have surpassed 200,000 for the year to date, fantastic news which shows the reputation and high regard of the company with the British consumer.
It comes after figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) showed the growth of new car sales in Britain for the 41st consecutive month. When looking at the data closer, it’s been revealed that Ford now hold a sales advantage of 26 per cent over its nearest rival – Vauxhall.
It proves that the popularity of the blue oval is continuing, particularly in official Ford car dealerships in Dorset, Somerset and other areas across the country.
Fiesta remains best-selling car
In a similar story, the Ford Fiesta retained its status as the best-selling car in July 2015. Also proving popular with consumers is the Ford Kuga, sales of which are running at their highest level since launch. Collectively, the figures mean that Ford have now extended their lead as the UK’s best-selling car, van and total vehicle producer.
The news of positivity for Ford also spread into the commercial sector, with sales of the Ford Transit increasing by more than 30 per cent compared to the same period 12 months previous.
When speaking about the developments, Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain chairman and managing director, said: “the sales success of our fresh and extended CV range this month has made five models segment leaders and the other one a close second.
“Our car sales are also gathering momentum as we roll out further new models including C-MAX, S-MAX, Galaxy, Mustang and Mondeo Vignale.”
