New car sales increase during March

A report has just been released that shows an increase of 1.8% during March, year on year compared to 2011.

The report was compiled by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) which regularly study and report upon trends and commercial dealings within the vehicle sector within the UK.

A total of 372,835 car sales took place during March; the month is of course well known for high sales due to the introduction of new plates each year.  Not only did car sales increase, car registrations also increased by 7.4% within the private non commercial sector, one of the largest increases for the past two years.
