New Active is a real Plus

Ford has revealed the new KA+ Active, a crossover-style car that brings a rugged five-door compact model with a raised ride height and distinctive features.

Like the KA+, it has room for five adults and a generous boot and will cater for those who like the appeal of an SUV but not necessarily the size.

KA+ has been very popular with buyers since its launch in 2016, with more than 61,000 sold, and this new variant will meet demand from the increasing number of buyers who favour the higher stance of an SUV – Ford sold more than 200,000 SUVs in Europe for the first time last year and this year the enthusiasm shows no sign of abating.

The new car, which sits beneath Fiesta Active in the range, is equipped to deal with life in the school of hard knocks thanks to additional body cladding but it loses none of the familiar appeals to enthusiast drivers that has become part of Ford’s DNA thanks to the specially-tuned suspension.

Ford the first time, it will bring Ford’s three cylinder 1.2 litre petrol engine to KA+, with a choice of 70 PS or 85 PS power outputs. There will also be a diesel option, the 95 PS 1.5 litre TDCi for drivers who cover higher mileages. It’s equipped with Smart Regenerative Charging that recovers energy to the battery under braking.
