Managers on the move at Foray

Phil Hallett has taken over as sales manager at Hine Motors in Shaftesbury in a move from English Ford at Poole, where he was used car sales manager.

Phil has 22 years’ experience in the motor trade, all with main dealers, and started his career in vehicle body repairs and refinishing before moving into sales 17 years ago with Yeovil Ford. He later left the company, rejoining in 2014 at Taunton Ford, where he and a colleague won a regional award from Motability, the scheme that helps disabled people get mobile, for commitment to customer service.

Moving to Poole to take his place is John Sunderland, a member of the Foray Motor Group sales team for 14 years, having joined in Andover. John moved to Poole to develop his skills and then returned to Andover as sales manager in 2009 before taking on this new challenge.

“Both Phil and John have shown considerable skill in their roles in what has been a difficult market of late,” said Tom Croft, Group sales manager for Foray.

“Phil now gets the chance to run his own dealership in a town where there’s keen competition but also great customer loyalty to the Ford brand for him to build upon.

“John will be playing an important role in growing used car sales. More and more new car buyers are choosing to take advantage of the Ford Options PCP scheme which means there’s a constant flow of two and three year old used cars returning to use. Maximising their potential makes an important contribution to the Group’s overall performance.”
