The Department for Transport (DfT) has approved the launch of a website dedicated to its hybrid Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) scheme in the hope that more organisations around the country will opt to purchase one of the specially converted Transit vans that are now available and thereby help in reducing carbon emissions across the UK.
The recently introduced Low Carbon Vehicle Procurement Programme (LCVPP) was initially set up specifically for the benefit of central and local government bodies, but the £3,400 subsidies have now been extended for universities, further education institutions and housing associations to take advantage of.
With commercial vans in Dorset and beyond providing individuals and fleet owners with the essential practical and heavy-duty transport they need to maximise the productivity and profitability of their businesses, those behind the hybrid programme believe that it will not be too long before these innovative vehicles are much more widespread throughout the country.
