A presentation by the Ford Motor Group's executive chairman, Bill Ford, has shed light on just how important the car makers believe that researching transport in the future is.
Alongside building Ford cars and new Ford vans, the blue oval have a large number of people behind the scenes working in research and development facilities across the world. Many of these are employed to make Ford's already innovative technology future proof, adapting to current trends.
A large part of Ford's emphasis relies upon its in-car technology, already working with companies such as Microsoft to develop integration between transport types and what Ford call ‘Data-driven transport'.
An example could easily be Ford Transit vans of the future being able to react accordingly to congestion, using smart technology, helping both the passenger and driver. You can find the talk here.
