FORD TRANSIT TO BE OFFERED WITH ECOBOOST ENGINE IN THE STATES
Ford has released new information regarding the upcoming introduction of Ford Transit vans to America, mentioning that the new Ford vans will be available with a 3.5litre EcoBoost Engine.
In the past Ford's E-Series van has been the company's top selling commercial vehicle. That could well be about to change though, with the Transit being introduced; its combination of direct injection engine, much lighter total weight (300 lb less) and fuel economy is sure to sway many. It is thought that drivers in the states could well be seeing a fuel efficiency of approximately 25% and with figures like that it could easily catapult the Transit to the top of the Market.
Just last week the Geneva Motor Show took place, and amongst its many offerings was Ford's Tourneo concept model, which gave attendees a sneak glimpse into how Ford have been working on re-styling the Transit van. There is certainly great plans ahead for new Ford vans in America, and we could well see the Transit become just as popular in the states as it is here in the UK.
