Ford Transit vans have long been providing the UK and other countries with high quality, affordable professional transport, being widely recognised as Europe's most popular Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV). The new Transit Custom has won a number of prestigious awards since its introduction, and its list of plaudits has just been added to once again.
The latest body to officially acknowledge the Transit's pre-eminence in its field is the Irish Motoring Writers' Association, which named the Custom model as the Continental Irish Van of the Year for 2013, seeing off an impressive series of rivals.
The award was presented to the head of Ford Ireland, Ciaran McMahon, by Paddy Murphy, who was there representing the ceremony's sponsors, Continental Tyres Ireland. The prize is seen as easily the most significant which LCVs can be considered for in Eire, with the country's top motoring journalists having decided upon the winners of the different categories for no less than 36 years.
Handing over the accolade, Murphy commented that the Custom is the perfect embodiment of the progress that has consistently been made in the LCV industry as a whole over the last few years, particularly due to the ways in which it has effected dramatic improvements in terms of fuel economy and on-board technology. Explaining that these are just two of the many reasons why it achieved victory, Murphy ended his speech by saying that the Custom was without doubt a 'worthy bearer' of its new title.
The Transit Custom is just one of several Ford vans in Dorset and beyond which are currently available for purchase or hire, providing individuals and fleets around the country with first rate commercial transport for an exceptionally reasonable price. With the Transit's performance currently at its most advanced stage, there has never been a better time to invest in a new edition of this truly classic model.
