FORD TO LEAD THE WAY IN ELECTRIC VEHICLE SALES

A leading research group have revealed that they believe Ford will be one of the two automotive companies who will be leading the way in terms of sales of electric vehicles over the next decade.
Pike Research, a specialist green technology subsidiary of global business consultants Navigant, announced in their study that more plug-in vehicles, such as the celebrated new electric Ford Transit vans, were produced last year than in any previous twelve month period, and that this figure will continue to rise for the foreseeable future, particularly in the US.
The report specifically predicted that Ford will be the only automotive manufacturer to sell more than 400,000 plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) in their home country up to the year 2020.
The electric Transit Connect model is just one of several new Ford vans which are making waves in the world of low emission vehicles, leading to commercial drivers and fleet owners across the UK starting to turn towards alternatively fuelled LCVs for transport.
