Ford tipped to be rising star of plug-in vehicle world
A recent report by a leading group of industry analysts has tipped the Ford Motor Company to be at the forefront of the plug-in electric vehicle revolution in the near future.
The ‘Pike Pulse Report: Plug-In Electric Vehicles' found that, whilst two other manufacturers are currently heading up this newly emerged global market, their comparatively ‘narrow product portfolios' will prove a stumbling block to their dominance, and that Ford are set to overtake them before long.
According to the research, Ford car dealers will benefit in particular from the rise of large scale flexible manufacturing by the Michigan-based company - something that was recently highlighted by one of the group's heads of operations when talking about their main US factory.
The authors of the report noted that Ford have yet to fully put their many ‘green' plans into practice, but that the carefully timed release of their next generation of low emission and electric cars should propel them into the position of market leaders.
