Ford, the most bought car brand in the UK
According to the latest poll by Google, Ford has come out top as the most bought brand of new and used cars in the UK.
Ford started selling its vehicles in Britain in 1909 and has since become one of largest car manufacturers in the world. With three major manufacturing sites in the UK, at Bridgend, Dagenham and Halewood, it is of little consequence that they have become one of the most trusted and popular car brands to UK residents.
Google’s annual gearshift report, from which these results were found, found Ford overtaking Audi to first place in the poll. With adverts such as Ford Fiesta for sale, amongst the manufacturer’s other models, popularly searched, the report also produced findings on the way in which car buyers make purchasing decisions, with 85% using online resources.
The report comes as the Frankfurt Motor Show gets underway this week, where Ford displayed its extremely popular seven seated Ford S-Max and unveiled the new S-Max Concept which boasts a sportier appearance with a sophisticated front grille similar to that of the latest Fiesta by the company. While the show has more surprises to come, not finishing until the 20 September, and has unveiled the likes of the futuristic smart watches, this new addition to the Ford family is set to cause a stir.
While Ford’s new car models are exciting and highly talked about, the emphasis of this report is on Ford’s success with the nation in both their new and used cars. More and more car buyers are using the internet to research their next car buys with many of those making use of smartphones and tablets according to the Google poll. Interestingly, however, many of these initial search queries are followed up with a trip to a show room or car dealer proving that a Ford dealership may still be the best place to source your new car.
