Ford Scores a one-two in the WRC in Wales

The Ford Works rally team achieved a dominating one-two win at the Welsh stage of the World Rally Championship last week. Jari-Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila, both from Finland and driving the Works Ford Fiesta RS WRC, increased their lead through the race to succeed in their eventual victories over their race rivals.

The Ford Focus RS WRC race car used is based upon the Ford Fiesta road car you’ll find in your nearest Ford car dealers. Since the new World Rally Car regulations in 2011, the Ford Focus RS is now powered by a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine, which is based on the same 1.6L turbo Ford EcoBoost engine seen in the models you can buy at your local Ford garage.

So, if you are looking to drive a new Ford Fiesta, you can rest assured this car has the pedigree of a race winner, with much of the race development and technology being passed on and used in the many of the Ford cars for sale today.
