Ford on track to sell more EcoBoost engines than expected

 

Despite the fact that the vehicle market may not be flourishing as much as it was several years ago, it certainly hasn't stopped manufacturers breaking their own goals and exceeding their own sales and production goals!

The Detroit free press have just reported that Ford are seeing the sales of their newly released EcoBoost engines exceed their expectations, certainly a sign that buyers are becoming increasingly interested in economical and innovative engines. Ford has announced that they are on track to sell 1.6 million EcoBoost units during 2013, that's 100,000 more than they had previously planned on.

The engines are set to be an integral part in Ford's plans to introduce global models of their popular Ford cars for sale. So far Ford has announced they want to reduce their platforms from 22 to 10 by the year 2017.
