Ford nominated for Green Car of the Year award

The finalists for the 2013 Green Car of the Year award have been revealed by the ceremony's organisers, and of the six confirmed nominees, two are models produced by Ford.

Ford car dealers have received tremendous amounts of interest in both their C-MAX and Fusion brands since they were released onto the market; their warm consumer and critical reception means that they are both in with a strong chance of emerging victorious when the overall winner is announced on November 29th at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The prestigious award has now been running for eight years, and 2012's recipient will be selected by a panel of independent experts, including the US television superstar Jay Leno and staff at the influential Green Car Journal.

Both new and used Ford cars are celebrated for their fantastic economy and performance levels, but the C-MAX and Fusion are leading the way in terms of the green revolution that is currently taking place in the automotive industry.
