Ford Mustang gallops into the UK

The new right-hand-drive Ford Mustang has arrived in the UK and over 1,000 British customers have now bought the new model.

According to statistics from the Ford Motor Company Media Center, 80 per cent of Brits have chosen the fastback body style instead of the convertible model of the Mustang. Breaking the results down further, 68 per cent of Brits opted for the 416PS 5.0-litre V8 engine, whilst 54 per cent chose the Mustang’s six-speed manual transmission over the six-speed automatic model.

The new Mustang comes in a range of colours and UK buyers have so far chosen Race Red (20 per cent), Magnetic Silver (17 per cent), Shadow Black (15 per cent), Triple Yellow (9 per cent) and Ruby Red (7 per cent). As of March, other available colours include Lightning Blue, White Platinum and Grabber Blue.

The Mustang is one of the car manufacturer’s most iconic models and can be ordered from Ford car dealers in Dorset and across the rest of the UK as well as online.

Total sales surpass 3,000

The success of the Ford Mustang has not just been limited to the UK as total sales for the iconic car have surpassed the 3,000 barrier already.

The first-ever right-hand-drive Ford Mustang can be ordered in the UK from £34,995 (V8) and £30,995 (EcoBoost). The car features SYNC 3 as well as an eight-inch colour touchscreen, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, and a nine-speaker DAB radio.

This famed US muscle car rose to prominence after being featured in a host of movies, most notably for featuring in the movie ‘Bullitt’ where it was driven by Hollywood megastar Steve McQueen in a car chase. This scene is considered by many movie buffs to be the greatest car chase of all time.

The first right-hand-drive Mustang has already been a huge hit in the UK and anyone interested in finding out more information should head to local Ford dealers in Wiltshire or elsewhere within the UK.
