Ford Model A could fetch up to $500,000 at auction

Since being founded back in 1903, the Ford Motor Company has continually developed and has been established as one of the leading car manufacturers in the world for years. Its extensive fleet of vehicles has allowed it to become a leader in a range of different vehicle markets. The most notable is the Ford Transit, a trustworthy and reliable workhorse which undoubtedly stands as the most popular van choice in the UK and one which is found in Ford dealerships. Boasting such a long history, it is understandable that classic models fetch a high price when put on the auction block. This is certainly the case for a custom built Ford Model A, which could be sold for as much as $500,000 when it goes on auction.

A beautiful example of the first ever vehicle produced by the company, this very model had been custom made for Edsel Ford, the son of founder Henry Ford. A dual-cow phaeton built by LeBaron and fitted with an aluminium body, it boasts a range of custom modifications such as a narrowed body, Grebel headlights and a wealth of chrome detailing.

The stunning vehicle is set to go under the hammer at the Gooding & Co. Auction in Scotsdale, Arizona. Being estimated to sell between $325,000 and $400,000, there are some people who believe it could smash the $500,000 barrier. Should it fetch anywhere near its estimate, it will be the most expensive version of this classic vehicle to ever be sold.

With a history of over 100 years, there’s every indication that the Ford Motor Company can continue to make history for years to come. If you want to discover more about the vehicles that Ford craft and what they could offer you, why not visit one of the countless used Ford car dealers today?
