Ford have announced the launch of a new campaign which will be geared towards offsetting the energy used in producing and using new Ford vans, as well as reducing the company's operation costs.
The automotive group commissioned the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) and the Carbon Trust to identify where savings could be made throughout their retail network, and the bodies responded by estimating that around 10 per cent of efficiencies could be implemented shortly and with minimal disruption.
Measures will include installing updated lighting, ventilation and cooling equipment into showrooms across the country, with the changes forming just part of the organisation's ongoing sustainability programme.
As this move shows, there is much more to Ford's commercial arm than simply Transit van production, with the manufacturers regularly taking new steps to ensure their carbon footprint is as low as possible and that they strive to reach maximum time and cost efficiency.
