Ford Focus 2014 praised in US safety tests
The latest Ford Focus has received some great praise for its safety features, earning a five star rating overall from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in America.
One of the most anticipated models coming from the ‘Blue Oval' production line in 2014, the new Ford Focus is the perfect fit for those looking to combine style with practicality; this is just one reason why it remains one of the top models in the small family car market. The Focus was the second best-selling car in the UK in 2013, being surpassed only by the Ford Fiesta.
Set to become available from Ford UK dealers in the coming months, the model's raft of safety features includes traction control with electronic stability control, six airbags and antilock brakes. As part of the testing procedure, the sedan and hatchback versions of the new Focus received five stars in the side crash test, plus four stars in the frontal crash tests and rollover tests. The Ford Focus Electric produced an even greater performance, earning a perfect five star score in all federal crash tests.
New Focus coming to UK in spring
The Ford Focus also won the 2014 Top Safety Pick award, as given by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, for its fantastic safety credentials which are sure to lead to further sales in markets across the world.
While these tests were carried out in America, their results will help build further anticipation for the new Focus ahead of its unveiling in the UK this spring.
