Ford designs Xbox controller
One of the highlights of the new Forza Motorsport 6 game on the Xbox One is the new Ford GT supercar. Now Ford has designed a new Xbox controller to celebrate the release of the game and the console’s new Elite Wireless Controllers.
The controllers have been based on the 2017 Ford GT, which is featured on the cover of the Forza Motorsport 6 game. It has Carbon Fibre case parts to help create a lightness and firmness in the controller.
As described in an article on Windows Central, the concept controller also features a thumbstick to represent the Ford GT steering wheel that allows the player to accurately steer in the game.
Custom paddles inspired by the Ford GT allow gamers to shift up, down or to use the clutch, whilst the controllers also boast cutaway brake and accelerator triggers to give the game a more realistic feel. There is also a see-through battery door and custom battery pack that were inspired by the Ford GT EcoBoost V6 engine.
Whilst you can’t pop into your local Ford car dealers in Dorset and pick up the new Ford GT, the new Forza Motorsport 6 game on Xbox One gives people the opportunity to drive this dream sports car. Unfortunately, the new controller that has been designed by Ford is only a concept and it has not been revealed whether it will actually go on sale.
Ford controller receives rave reviews
Despite it being unknown whether the Ford-designed Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller will ever go on sale to the general public, it has received a number of rave reviews from specialist gaming publications.
One such rave review came from Kotaku, who say that they would probably buy the controller and that the controller “would be great” if sold to the public.
