Ford creates racing Team history

Yesterday the Ford Motor Company celebrated another first, when its FIA World Rally Championship team claimed their 150th consecutive point.

The motoring giant's team members, Petter Solberg and Chris Patterson completed the racing feat by coming sixth at the Rally Argentina, making Ford the first manufacturer to reach the 150th point figure in the World Rally Championship's almost 40 year history. The team have been on a run since back in 2002 and since then Ford have managed to have at least one of their nominated drivers finish in a point scoring position.

The Rally team are based in Cumbria and their current car is a very advanced version of one of the company's most popular Ford cars for sale, the Ford Fiesta. Though this version differs from the many versions you will find at your nearest Ford car dealership, it certainly is testament to the base models success.
