Ford combine EcoBoost with Powershift transmission
The Ford Motor Company has long been regarded as among the finest automotive companies, lauded for their vehicles of high quality and craftsmanship ever since the firm was founded back in 1901.
While the EcoBoost engine has already been garnering widespread praise in automotive circles, Ford have now announced that it is to be combined with their advanced Powershift automatic transmission to offer even greater benefits for drivers.
Available to experience in the latest Ford Fiesta, the addition of the six-speed transmission system means that the EcoBoost emits just 114g/km of CO2, together with a fuel economy rate of 57.7mpg. This new creation has become the most efficient model in the Fiesta range, with performance values far superior to the 138g/km of CO2 which was recorded by the 1.6 EcoBoost Zetec PowerShift.
The Ford Fiesta has long been one of the flagship models for the company, becoming one of the finest vehicles in the supermini market since it was first unveiled back in 1976.
A consecutive winner of the International Engine of the Year award in both 2012 and 2013, the EcoBoost engine has been celebrated for offering maximum performance with minimal levels of fuel consumption and environmental impact. The decision to join two of their most advanced technologies not only shows their determination to offer the very best driving experience, but also shows that Ford is dedicated to leading the way in environmentally-friendly driving.
This advancement is sure to help the Fiesta in its pledge to become the best-selling car of 2013, having already been confirmed at the top of the pile for the first 10 months of the year with a staggering 104,619 models sold.
