Ford car featured in Hollywood blockbuster to be sold

A 2014 Ford Mustang GT that stars in the up-and-coming ‘Need for Speed' movie will be auctioned off for charity by the Ford Motor Company.

The sale of the Mustang will take place at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction, which is one of the biggest car collector auctions in the world, on April 12th.

Earlier this year it was revealed that the new Ford Mustang will be made available at Ford UK dealers and the model that is featured in the Hollywood movie in question is the same as those that will be sold from later this year across Britain.

Ford has a need for speed

The new ‘Need for Speed' movie, which features the Ford Mustang car, will be premiering on March 14th.

The car will then be sold at the auction and will be offered to buyers at no reserve, with all proceeds being put towards the Henry Ford Health System - a not-for-profit group that aims to improve the health and wellbeing of a diverse community.

The Ford Mustang is no stranger to hitting the big screen, as it has featured in over 3,200 film and television programmes throughout its 50-year history.

Various other new and used Ford vehicles have also featured in movies and shows from the UK and beyond, but in a couple of weeks' time the Ford Mustang will be watched by thousands of cinemagoers across the world in the new ‘Need for Speed' movie.

Steve Ling, North America Car Marketing Manager for Ford, said in a statement, "Mustang was cast in a leading role of the movie with screen time equal to many of the actors.

"The new owner of this particular Mustang will take home a rare vehicle, and their bid will increase access to critical health care services."
