Ford C-MAX Hybrid becomes best selling Hybrid vehicle after launch

Ford's new C-Max hybrid has been turning the heads of avid motorists ever since it was launched two months ago. It has been met with such positivity that it has even been named as the fastest selling hybrid ever after its launch.

According to official figures, a staggering 8,030 units of the Ford C-max Hybrid were sold during October and November, the first two months of its launch at Ford dealerships. It means that the model surpasses the previous record held by the Toyota Prius, which recorded 7,300 sales during May and June 2006. When combining the sales of the C-MAX Hybrid and C-MAX Energi, it is evident they sold three times faster than both the Toyota Pruis and the Honda Insight which hit the forecourt in 2000.

November proved a fantastic year for Ford in terms of Hybrid vehicles, finalising deals on 7,157 models in that month alone. The figures mean that both the C-MAX models are outselling the Prius and Prius plug in by almost 10% combined. It is fantastic news for the motoring corporation, which is clearly becoming a dominant force in the eco-friendly vehicle market.

Customer awareness of hybrid technologies has been growing steadily, with recent surveys suggesting that 60% of today's buyers confirming they are considering hybrid vehicles as they look for their new car. Fuel consumption is a fundamental reason for this, and with Ford's C-MAX models boasting an incredible 47 miles per gallon, this is just one of the reasons why the models are proving more and more popular.
