Ford announce new small car crossover

Following on from yesterday's announcements regarding the upcoming releases of the two new Ford cars for sale, the 2014 Ford Mondeo and 2013 Ford Fiesta the motor manufacturers have announced a new crossover project.

The B-segment crossover has been confirmed for release in Europe sometime within the next 18 months under the name of the Ecosport. The small car crossover will deliver great value for money, quality and, as to be expected, fuel economy.

The Ecosport will be the first global Ford vehicle designed and developed solely in South America, a first for Ford and its ‘One Ford' mission and vision.

As well as giving more choice to car buyers across the UK and Europe, the new model will also help increase Ford's SUV market share, something that Ford wish to see double within the next five years.

There is still not a large amount of information known about the Ecosport apart from Ford's announcement that it will come with several technology features such as SYNC, hill launch assist and the company's electronic stability program when it finally gets launched at Ford car dealers across the world.
