The private gritting services firm GRITIT have announced that they are adding to their already extensive range of Ford vehicles this winter in order to help them cope with what have already become treacherously icy conditions on the UK's roads.
GRITIT have enjoyed great success as an organisation since they started offering their services to health sector, retail, logistics, commercial and industrial premises which wish to keep their entrances and surrounding roads clear of ice and snow to ensure ease of access, and much of this success has been put down to the highly visible presence of Ford amongst their fleet.
Since 2009, GRITIT have only used Ford vehicles to help run their vital and highly lucrative operation, which includes over 70 Transit vans and chassis cab vehicles. Now, the group have added to their previous total of 40 award winning Ranger pick-up trucks which they purchased last year with 30 of the 2012 model.
The company has a total of 92 depots all around the UK, and official figures show that the average number of call-outs they will make over the course of one winter numbers somewhere in the region of 100,000, which is a clear demonstration of how important it is that the vans in Dorset and elsewhere which GRITIT use are reliable, durable and able to cope with the most challenging of road conditions.
It is because of this that GRITIT place their trust exclusively in Ford's range of light commercial vehicles, which the firm's managing director, Nikki Singh-Barmi, describes as 'excellent'. In a statement, the MD went on to say that 'nothing competes with Ford', singling out the manufacturer's unrivalled after sales support as a particular strong point of their service. Singh-Barmi confirmed that her company had chosen to invest in more Ford Rangers because the pick-up offers the ultimate in manoeuvrability and versatility in all kinds of weather.
