Details for 2017 Ford Ranger released

Details for the 2017 Ford Ranger model have been released, including information on the models exterior look and potential release date.

The new model will be the next in the line of successful Ford Rangers, which are sold at Ford van dealers in Taunton and across the rest of the UK.

In an article on the New Cars Info website, it says that the new Ford Ranger model “offers customers improved design, cutting-edge technologies, and improved fuel efficiency than before”.

Features such as SYNC 3 connectivity, four-wheel drive capability, a class-leading wading capability, and an optimised payload and towing capacity will be included in the 2017 Ford Ranger.

The Ford Ranger was released into Europe around five years ago and sales at Ford van dealerships in Poole and across the rest of Europe for the pickup have soared with the Ranger’s market share increasing to over 24 per cent from 2016 in Ford’s traditional European markets.

With its new connectivity, infotainment and convenience technologies, as well as its fuel efficiency and new designs, Ford Motor Company are hoping to see sales rise even more in 2017.

New technologies to improve the Ford Ranger

The 2017 Ford Ranger will feature a variety of new technologies such as a voice-activated SYNC 3 connectivity system that includes an eight-inch display screen.

Driver assistance technologies that the new model boasts will include traffic sign recognition, adaptive load control, hill launch assist and hill descent control, front and rear parking assistance, a rear view camera, adaptive cruise control, trailer sway control, adaptive load control, emergency brake assistance, electronic stability control, and a lane-keeping alert.

The exterior of the new Ford Ranger is said to have been modernised and boasts new projector headlights and a more muscular hood.

Dave Dewitt, exterior design manager at Ford Asia Pacific, added, “The new Ford Ranger 2017 maintains Ranger’s traditional excellent aerodynamic characteristics by emphasizing ‘Built Ford Tough’ design elements like the outboard nostrils. We saw an opportunity to give the design extra tension that can withstand tough working conditions. Therefore it was important the new Ranger functions as a tough, dependable tool.”

The new Ford Ranger could be released in mid-2017.
