BT TURNS TO TECHNOLOGY TO GET MOST OUT OF ITS FLEET
The UK's largest telecommunications company, BT Group, have revealed that they are in the process of improving every aspect of their fleet, which is largely made up of Ford Transit vans , through the introduction of cutting edge tuning and remapping technology into their vehicles.
This newly founded partnership with the nation's leading automotive enhancers should soon lead to improved performance, fuel efficiency and emission rates throughout the vans they use; with one of the largest commercial fleets in the country, amounting to over 20,000 LCVs, whatever BT choose to do could have a significant impact on the rest of the industry as a whole.
Senior innovation and design specialist at BT, Steve Watson, has said that his company wants to set an example as ‘responsible and sustainable' fleet operators, with the initiative also expected to save them more than £3 million in the process.
With innovative techniques such as speed, rev and throttle limiting currently being installed in BT's vans in Dorset and throughout the UK, it is expected that several other major businesses may follow their lead in the coming months and years.
