BRITISH EXPLORER TRUSTS IN THE TRANSIT FOR EXPEDITION
Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the intrepid British explorer, is about to embark on the next of his daring adventures, this time with the help of the Ford Transit van. The adventurer has enlisted the help of a new Ford van as part of his next expedition: crossing the Antarctic during winter.
The former British Army officer is no stranger to Ford Transit vans. Previously he has used one to transport his crew of 12 across 3,000 miles of Sweden. The van dealership supplied a modified Transit minibus to carry the team of mechanics through various types of terrain.
The upcoming expedition will certainly be the toughest challenge that Sir Ranulph Fiennes will have faced; the 68-year-old and his team will have to brave temperatures of minus 50 degrees. The trip will be under the name of ‘The Coldest Journey on Earth' and is set to raise over £6 million for a blindness charity.
