Another Facebook first for Ford

The Ford Motor Company have been utilising social media websites to promote itself and its products with great success, so much success in fact that it has just scooped another first, by having one of its vehicles become the first ever car to collect 4 million fans.

The car in question is the fast muscle car the ‘Ford Mustang', in particular the Ford Shelby GT500 model, and with more and more fans being added each day its testament to the vehicle and the manufacturers popularity.

The Mustang's Facebook page has plenty to see and do, with plenty of interactive features to keep visitors entertained and coming back for more. Alongside expected content such as videos and photos of the muscle car in action, fans can use the Mustang Customiser that is integrated into the page, allowing them to design their dream cars and then turn them into a desktop wallpaper for their computers.

Currently the Ford Mustang is only available in North America, but recently Ford Europe commented that they were monitoring interest caused by recent European exposure via new global advertising, meaning we could one day see Mustangs amongst other Ford cars for sale at Ford car dealers in Europe.
