2014 Ford Focus unveiled
Ford has this week released the first images of the brand new Focus ahead of its official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show on March 4th.
The new Focus model will be joining other Ford UK cars on sale in June later this year and will be showing off a number of new features that have been added.
These features include an aesthetic facelift, with the model featuring a new grille and enhancements to the quality of the interior, as well as a variety of engines and technologies now being made available to customers.
The engines available on the new 2014 Ford Focus for sale include a 1.5-litre EcoBoost petrol and a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine. Improvements to the engine mean that drivers of the new Focus car will be seeing a 19 percent improvement in economy compared to the current model.
The new and improved Ford Focus
Details released about the new Ford Focus car show that the 2014 model has a revised suspension, improved shock absorbers, better electric power steering and a new Electronic Stability Program to enhance the car's already impressive dynamics.
The improvements don't stop there, as Ford also revealed that their new Focus model has a revamped bonnet, restyled headlights, a new bumper and tailgate.
The new Focus is also set to become the first car in Europe to offer SYNC 2, which is an in-car connectivity system from Ford. The 2014 Ford Focus will include an 8 inch colour touchscreen as well as an advanced voice control system that will be compatible with drivers' mobile phones.
Another great feature that has been added to the 2014 Ford Focus is a new Pre-Collision Assist System, which helps control the car's breaks and gives the driver warnings when driving at high speeds.
Joe Hinrichs, Ford executive vice president, says, "We have taken the title of (the) world's best-selling nameplate to impressive new heights with the redesigned Focus."
