2011 PROVES A GREAT YEAR FOR VAN SALES ACROSS THE UK
With news of a slight decline in the car market, van dealers and dealerships have, surprisingly, a lot more to be cheerful about regarding 2011's sales figures. During December, the van industry within the UK saw an increase of 7.8% within the market.
The 7.8% increase was hailed by many within the industry as the crowning of the year, in which the van sector grew by almost 17%. Figures have been officially released by the SMTT that has shown a total amount of 260,153 vans were registered during 2011, with the month of December contributing 18,415, finishing off the year.
Commenting upon 2011's UK van market growth, the SMMT's chief executive, Paul Everitt, spoke of vehicle buyers' confidence over the year being one of the largest factors fuelling the increase within the industry.
It is hoped that 2012 will see a continuation of the growing trend within the market, commercial vehicles such as Ford Transit vans are expected to continue to lead the large range of affordable new Ford vans on sale from dealerships around the UK.
