Soccer day hits Prostate Cancer fundraising goal
Staff from across Foray Motor Group have helped make a fundraising day a great success.
Around 250 staff and family members from the company’s nine sites travelled to the South Wiltshire Sports Club in Salisbury for an all-day football tournament organised by Edwards Ford workshop controller Chris Mustow and eventually won by a team from Bridgwater Ford.
“The matches were played on two all-weather pitches and while there were a few scraped knees and elbows, plus some other minor knocks, everyone thought the effort more than worthwhile,” says Chris, who helped organise the event with Foray credit controller Anna Seve and
Rosie Evans, senior accounts clerk.
“Entertainment was provided for children with a bouncy castle, face painting, and a magician / balloon modeller all going down well. A hog roast and plenty of sunshine helped make the day a real success.
“The tombola for prizes donated by companies local to our dealerships, as well as by staff members, kept busy all day and the footballers paid £2 each to play. With that and the other monies raised on the day we managed to raise over £700 for Prostate Cancer UK, which was great, and the company has doubled it to £1,400, which is even better!”
