Head's up on Ford's all new Focus
Ford has revealed its all-new Focus, on sale for September deliveries and featuring a new head-up display, a first for a Ford model in Europe. And true to Ford’s innovative ethos, it’s the first of its type that can be read by drivers using polarised lenses, a real summer safety boost.
But there’s plenty more technology in the new car to ensure safer journeys while the car also has a stronger bodyshell with 40 per cent better front crash protection and even better rear suspension to please drivers who already appreciate the car’s fine handling characteristics.
Naturally, with the drive towards cleaner motoring, there are improved versions of the EcoBoost petrol and EcoBlue diesel engines as well as a new eight-speed automatic gearbox promising even greater driving flexibility.
In addition to the familiar Style, Zetec, Titanium, and ST-Line models, there will be a new Active variant and luxurious Vignale models on offer, too.
Good news for drivers on Britain’s pitted roads is CCD technology that can detect the edge of a pothole and adjust the suspension so the wheel doesn’t fall so far in, lessening the impact on the tyre as the car reaches the far side of the hole.
