Ford’s Fiesta of used car awards

What Car? has named the Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec 5dr as its Used Car of the Year 2012.

It crowns a triple victory for Ford - Fiesta was named best used supermini, Mondeo best used family car, and S-MAX best used MPV. What Car? editor-in-chief Chas Hallett said: "The Fiesta is a fantastic used car. It's stylish, refined, safe and great to drive. It's also reliable and cheap to run, and you can buy a three-year-old example for a little over £6000, so it's a lot of talented car for the cash."

The What Car? Used Car of the Year judging panel was drawn from all areas of the motor industry plus experts from What Car?.

The award judges looked at running costs, reliability, driveability, quality, longevity, safety features, and desirability for every car.

Tom Croft, Foray's group sales manager, said he was pleased with the awards - but not surprised!

"Fiesta consistently leads the national new car sales figures by a big margin so is widely available as a used car, too," he explains. "The judges' summary of the Fiesta is perfect and I know that Foray Group customers agree.

"My own experience, having covered many thousands of miles a year in each, is that all these Fords are great cars to own and drive, too."

"No other maker achieved three What Car? Used Car category awards this year which shows what great cars are in the modern Ford range and what superb value they represent."
