Ford run ahead of UK car sales average in 2012

Ford, the UK's most popular automobile manufacturer, have reported a big increase on their sale of new cars across the country, which has come in well ahead of the national monthly and yearly averages.

Official figures from the respected industry analysts at the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) show that the number of Ford cars for sale being snapped up by the public shot up by 12.3 per cent last month, compared with the same period last year.

Discussing the highly encouraging results, Mark Ovenden, the managing director of Ford of Britain, said that the rise in transactions in the group's showrooms across the South West and beyond throughout 2012 has largely been due to the amount of investment they have made in the development of innovative, cutting edge new models and in-car technologies.

Whilst the wider introduction of the popular EcoBoost engine into domestic vehicles and the release of the 2013 B-Max have provided this surge in sales, it is important to remember that there are also some great deals to be found on a wide range of used Ford cars.
