Ford launch range-topping Fiesta ST3
Ford have added a brand new model to their fleet of Fiesta models, with the Fiesta ST3 coming with a host of new features to appeal to sports car enthusiasts.
Priced at a reasonable £19,250, it is a whole £1,000 more than the ST2, but the host of additions that the range-topping model comes with make the extra expense worthwhile. While the ST already comes with Recaro sports seats, 17-inch alloy wheels and a DAB radio as standard, keyless entry, an upgraded hi-fi system with integrated sat-nav and automatic headlights are among the new features drivers will be able to play with in this new Ford vehicle.
The engine will stay the same as all ST models, with the 1.6 Turbocharged petrol EcoBoost engine producing 180bhp and taking the car from 0-62mph in just 6.9 seconds. Despite these speedy credentials, the new ST3 teams performance with efficiency as it does 47.9mpg and its CO2 emissions are just 138g/km.
Great success for Ford
First introduced at the 2004 instalment of the Geneva Motor Show, the Fiesta ST has been a huge success for the company and gave drivers the best of both worlds in terms of practicality and performance. Continued into the latest incarnation of the Fiesta, the ST’s on-road prowess has helped it win a host of top industry awards – most notably as Top Gear Magazine’s Car of the Year in 2014.
Sales of the model have been recently far exceeding expectations, with the demand for a high-performance car seeing 6,250 models being sold since its introduction a year ago – 20 per cent more than originally predicted.
