Ford Ka spotted testing in Brazil

Those interested in the latest version of the Ford Ka have been offered a sneak peek into how the model will be shaped, after it was spotted during a test drive in Brazil.

The Ford Ka was a revelation when it was first introduced back in 1996, with the compact model proving particularly popular with city dwellers looking for a quick and easy car for navigating the busy streets. The third generation of the Ford Ka was first unveiled in November 2013, arriving in South American and Asian markets before being launched across Europe. It ends many months of speculation for the future of the Ford Ka in the European market, with bosses worried that there wouldn't be a demand for the model.

Although it sported loose camouflage, the new version of the Ford hatchback will clearly get a rear roof spoiler and an Aston Martin styled oversized grille - should the images depict the finished article, of course. The model shows no distinct differences from November's concept, with the same cluster of headlights remaining in place. Perhaps the biggest change noticed is the types of alloys, with both the conventional and EcoSport model sporting alternative styles to those seen on last year's concept model.

In terms of the engine size, it's thought that the new Ford Ka will come with either a 1.0L three-cylinder EcoBoost engine or even a 1.5L engine.
