FN50 Shows Ford Tops Van Reliability
The FN50 is an annual reliability survey that covers light commercial vehicles. It is the largest survey of its kind, covering more than 180,000 participants, and this year’s study revealed that Ford tops the charts. The Transit led the way for both vehicles and manufacturers in this poll, which is particularly important because vans are generally utilized by businesses. Where car reliability is important, the vehicles that a business uses are critical to the continuing success of their owners and drivers — downtime can mean loss of business and a slowdown in delivery of goods and services.
It is notable that the Transit retained its top spot from the previous year, as it was replaced by Ford earlier this year with another model.
Ford also appeared in the third top spot in the survey, with the Ford Transit Connect continuing to hold that place from the previous year. Another Ford vehicle, the Ford Transit Custom, entered the market in the ninth spot, a high mark considering that it was only introduced in the summer of 2013.
Of all van manufacturers on the market, Ford continued to rank as the top most reliable van manufacturer.
