Ford has already announced that they would be introducing two new members into its van family, the Ford Tourneo Custom and the Transit Custom, but that hasn't stopped them unveiling a brand new redesign of the full-size Transit.
Unveiled today at Ford's ‘Go Further' event in Amsterdam, the 2014 Transit has had a facelift and plenty of new features added to update the blue oval's flagship to new heights.
The new Transit gets a similar face to the Tourneo custom and Transit Custom but, judging by specifications, that's where the similarities stop. With Ford's new drive to create global versions of vehicles, the European 2014 version will be identical in looks to the American one. The European model will have plenty of powertrain options such as a twin turbocharged 3.5 litre EcoBoost V-6 and possibly a 3.7 litre V6.
The new Ford vans will be available in the US and Europe later next year, with it reaching Europe as a 2014 model. It is still unknown whether the Ford transit vans will be badged differently and more in line with the US version. Ford has already trademarked T-250, T-450 and T-550, sparking rumours of a possible rebadging.
