Vaillant Group Chooses Ford Transit Custom

The Derbyshire-based heating technology manufacturer Vaillant Group has announced that it will be upgrading its current fleet, replacing their current inventory of 230 Transit vans with brand new Ford Transit Custom vans. 110 of the vehicles will be delivered over the course of this year for use by the company’s after-sales service engineers, who will use them for component storage and as a mobile workspace.

According to Keith Mathers, the company’s group service director, “Our vans carry a large number of spares to enable them to maintain a very high first-call success rate. When we are called out, our goal is to fix any problem immediately, which we do in more than 95% of cases. The Transit is ideal for this role because of its high load capacity, and we know it to be exceptionally reliable in service.” He also praised the vehicles safety benefits and the model benefits as determining factors in the purchase.

“Vaillant prides itself on offering a quality service, so it is vital to put our engineers in an environment which reflects our values. Our engineers spend all days in their vehicles, and their safety and comfort is paramount. If their vehicle is equipped with air conditioning, sun protection glass, parking sensors and central locking, then that also helps lower the stress of their daily working lives. In terms of ease of repair and use, as well as comfort, the Ford Transit Custom was our best option.”

Ford’ fleet business manager Martin McDonald noted that Vaillant is a long-standing and valuable customer for Ford, and that the Ford Transit Custom is a good fit for their needs.
