Used Fords are winners, too

Ford's stylish S-MAX multi-activity vehicle has been recognised at this year's What Car? Used Car Awards, with accolades also presented to the Focus and Focus Estate.

It is the third time - and the second year running - that the S-MAX has claimed the What Car? Used MPV of the Year title.

Chas Hallett, What Car? editor in chief, said: "The Ford S-MAX is a great seven seat people mover - it's the MPV choice for people who are not great MPV fans thanks to its flexibility, space and practicality. It drives and handles just like a regular passenger car, as well as being economical to own and run."

The Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec Climate and Focus 1.6 Zetec Climate Estate models were price-point winners in the less than £6000 category, What Car? describing both as "genuinely good fun to drive" and the best value for money on the market.

Ford has been a winner every year for the last six in the What Car? Used Car of the Year awards.

Tom Croft, group sales manager for Foray Motor Group, said the awards were proof that Ford models showed endurance for second and subsequent users and were more than just showroom stunners.

"The true test of a good new car is that it can stand comparison in the used market, too," explained Tom. "The S-MAX is a superb car, with many buyers placing repeat orders, while the success of Focus in the sub-£6,000 sector shows Fords can take a hard life and still shine through. Buyers who can't afford a new car can still have confidence when choosing Ford products."
